Fans of witty adventure puzzle games will love this, but I did experience a few issues with sound cutting out and crashes where I had to reopen the game

What a great game!! It kept me occupied for days!! It has a few tough spots, but that just makes it better. I cannot say enough about how fun this game is!! The only bad part is that it’s over. ☹️

I’m stuck on the part where dan is trying to get one of the teleports to the temple of eternal illusion. For some reason it won’t let me leave the boiler room. I’ve tried closing out the app and restarting but it still won’t let me leave!! Please fix!!

I bought this game and as soon as I started playing it I loved it! But I made it to where I painted the sarcophagus and it won’t let me leave the basement now... I really was looking forward to finishing this game, so I wouldn’t buy it because you get so into it then can’t finish

This game was hard, to the point I had to consult a walkthrough/cheat sheet a couple of times. However, I really appreciate how intricate and interactive this game is in both the lite and full versions. The hints and so-called hints via dialogue gave the game depth. The idea of the storyline was creative. I hope you guys could make a game continuing this storyline or make a stand-alone story in the same universe as this one. The monsters and main characters were cool!

Very fun and memorable. Despite being older, it’s working well on my iPhone XS! Doesn’t fill up the screen, which would be nice, but not a dealbreaker

This must not be compatible with newer OS versions as the game crashes in the exact same spot every time. Needs to be updated or removed from App Store.

I can’t progress any further in Chapter 2 because the corkscrew I picked up has disappeared from my inventory. Lame.

I actually bought this game a couple of years ago and I completely forgot about it and never played it. Recently, I stumbled upon it again and I decided to play it. The storyline was so intriguing and the graphics were great. I actually got attached to the characters and I loved the dynamic between Dan and Liz. The dialogue was very fun to go through and also hilarious. The game switches between characters really nicely in each chapter and I would love to maybe see a sequel to Dan and Liz’s adventures.

Nice game. But I’m having trouble with the flower orchestra puzzle as it keeps crashing on me, using iOS 11.

Excellent challenging hilarious game. Unique story, lovable characters. Excellent game, one of the best I ever played. I just hope they will do a 2nd episode

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this and purchased it based on other reviews and some research I did...the graphics and cutscenes are gorgeous and movie worthy...the dialogue is razor sharp witty, funny and intelligent..the puzzles are fun and can be funny at the same time...the hint system is truly a marvel too in and of itself...when you play the game, you'll see what I mean...this is a top notch adventure and point n click game that is a must own for anyone who owns an itouch or iPad. PS. Please developers update game for iOS 10 per Apple request so game will continue to work on future iOS generations

The main characters were very funny and the story was plain fun! This game is perfect for a day off work or away from your responsibilities! Highly entertaining!

iTunes has compiled various 15 Best lists for app games in their stores. This game should have undoubtedly made the cut. Great story, awesome graphics, interesting and challenging puzzles. Simply one of the best games out there.

I played this game on an iPhone 6+ This game, “Hollywood Monsters”, is actually a re-make/port of “The Next Big Thing” which was a sequel to the original “Hollywood Monsters”. But you don’t need to play the first game to understand and enjoy this game. This was an amazing 8-9 hour (possibly 10 or 11 depending on how much you milk it) experience full of vibrant settings, colorful and memorable characters, wonderful homages to classic horror films, and puzzles and logic games that were tough enough to get the mind thinking…but not too random or farfetched. to be totally illogical in context with the game. I especially loved the voice acting and dialogue which were smart, in character, and often humorous. It also pays to click on things multiple times as that often leads to new comments or even more detailed (and at times plot-expanding) dialogue. I also really loved how they incorporated the narrator as both a storyteller and hint giver. And as to hints, they are multi-layered…the first hint is clear and helpful, but doesn’t give much. Still stumped? The 2nd gives a little more detail. Not enough? The third (and usually last) gives even more detail…but you still have to figure it out yourself. All in all, I only used an internet walkthrough twice. Everything else I figured out on my own or used the in-game hint (and sometimes the hints are rather humorous and entertaining, too). Two things need to be mentioned though. First, a bug…it’s a minor one…in two instances, the voice actor/actress repeated words like a broken record (ex. “what?”). The game still progressed and the broken record effect would stop after a some seconds. The 2nd issue is a content thing…there is quite a fair amount of innuendo (nothing blatant, but still clear if you’re old enough)…so I would not give this to children.

This is my ideal adventure/point + click game! It is entertaining and both story and puzzles have lots of variety. Never gets repetitive like hidden obj/adventure games can.

Very enjoyable game, doesn't take itself seriously. Puzzles are mostly easy, but still fun. Would love to play more games like this one.

I am highly upset at spending $5.99 for a game that doesn't even work! All I see is a blank white screen! Please fix or refund my money!!

Installed on my 3rd gen iPad. Game won't load. Goes to blank white screen and nothing happens. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and restarted my iPad. Still just get the white screen. I feel ripped off.

I want to play this game so badly and it will not open on my phone I have the 5s and the newest iOS it should run but the screen just stays white when it opens, help please fix this. the other reviews have high praises for the game and I want to get my money's worth

I cleared up 3.2 GB of space for this and it just won't download. I'm getting really aggravated because I really wanted to play this game. Can some one help me? I didn't want to give this such a bad review but I had to, given the circumstances.

It is a very exciting and the characters are funny and cool! The only problem that it was short! Wants more!

if you are familiar with monkey island or leisure suit larry you already know this type of game its all about story and this is a good one if you are like me and like it this is a good one

This should be a classic, right up there with the greats from Lucasfilm/LucasArts. Crazy, zany, great hint system, excellent voice acting, and more!! And it does work with iOS7 and 7.1. I played through it on an iPad Air. The only time it crashed for me was during the tango puzzle, but only when I got it wrong. The correct solution did not cause it to crash. That was also the most annoying puzzle, and the only puzzle I had to hit the web to solve. The opening trailer for the game gives you are a really good idea of what to expect. And I have never heard better voice acting than in this adventure game. The crazy setting and plot, the zany lines, etc. made for a very memorable experience. It is a brilliant masterpiece that deserves to be considered a classic. You will not find a better adventure game in the App Store!

Hollywood Monsters is a fun game with a few kinks. Lovely graphics (which requires a lot space on your device), fun voice acting, unconventional characters and challenging (but not impossible) puzzles make this a nice addition for any point and click adventure gamer. That said, I lost interest in the game initially because it crashed and froze at certain parts, especially in the Egyptian temple. A bug fix was provided, and I picked up the game again after several months. However, there continued to be minor crashes throughout the game, which was incredibly annoying. Fortunately, no progress was lost after restarting, but this bugginess often happened while solving specific puzzles (the tango challenge, for instance). While I recommend Hollywood Monsters to games, I hope the developers fix the last remaining bugs.

Where can I find a walkthrough? I'm stuck at liz taking a bath. I have half a button for the elevator but don't know what to do. At the scene where u put the head back on the Scottish guy in the painting.

I purchased this app and it has never shown me anything except a blank white screen. Do not waste your money on this app it will not run until they send out an update for current iOS. There has not been an update for over a year.

Great point and click games. Like the greats of the past. Need more games like this!

I have been waiting forever for I0S7 support, as will not run. I paid for this game, and that money is gone. Looks like just the sort of game I'd love. I will be trying again to contact someone who can give me some idea when this matter can be resolved. Until then, one star is it.

Wonderful game, with beautiful animation, and an old-school feel much like the adventure games of old. Highly recommended.
